Progressive Scorecard is a database of votes, bills, and members of Congress intended to inform the public from a left-wing perspective. Too often, Democratic Representatives campaign on progressive ideas but fail to follow through once in office. By examining Congressional voting records and legislative sponsorship data, Progressive Scorecard seeks to illuminate which members of Congress are the true champions of policies that benefit working families.

Not all votes and bills are equal. Most votes a Representative takes will be either procedural, or bills and resolutions of little to no consequence. Our methodology attempts to gets rid of all the junk and focus primarily on major votes & bills that highlight ideological splits within the Democratic party.
