If Grijalva is good enough for Justice Democrats, he is good enough for us.

Raul Grijalva (AZ-03)

A solid progressive with power is something you don't see a whole lot in the House, but Congressman Raul Grijalva, who chairs the Natural Resources Committee, is one of them. Grijalva was an early endorser of Bernie in 2016, backed Keith Ellison as party chair, and threw his support to Warren in 2020. As former co-chair of the Progressive Caucus through the Obama years, he was (and still is) an outspoken lefty who continually backs up his rhetoric with a stellar voting record.

Grijalva is one of the original Justice Democrats, which speaks to his progressive bonafides since the group almost never backs candidates who have held public office as long as Grijalva. He has introduced some of the seminal pieces of progressive legislation including the Environmental Justice For All Act and the People's Budget.

Not much ideologically to quibble with here. Grijalva probably should have withheld his support on a few appropriation bills and not have voted for USMCA trade deal, but in the grand scheme of things he easily makes it into the top 20 best members of Congress. Though Grijalva is getting up their in years, his district would be hard pressed to find as stronger a champion for working families even if they had a fresher face.
